Yngwie Malmsteen. Seemingly based old white dude who knows he’s awesome and loves classical music.
Upvoted just for choosing a "based old white dude" and this being Poal.

Without putting a whole lot of thought into it, I'd have to go with Jimmy Page. I really like Zeppelin enough though they are a bunch of degenerates.
Very... safe
Yeah, I mean, I do fucking love Zeppelin, and it is a clique pick, but an honest one.
We forgive you for the degeneracy. It the arts, it's allowed... not too much though or I hear it turns you into a faggot.

Oh. I didn't expect this. He was pretty rad creatively.
I always really liked Alan Holdsworth. Some of my favorite albums feature him. Love his work with Bill Bruford and Tony Williams. Just a unique guitarist with completely his own style. Great chops too.
Mind replying with a fav vid or track?

There are a lot of guitarists I love, I think my current favorite might be Martin Barre. He never overplays, he's just incredibly tasteful. Everything he plays is a great accent the song he's playing on.
Jerry Only - Misfits Bass Guitar
Dimebag Darrel -Pantera Guitar
Keeping in mind we're going with fav not best James Hetfield.
Talented rhythm guitarist that has really led Metallica in developing their sound, and respect that he"s been willing to take that roll raather than lead guitar on most tracks despite being lead writer on most of their biggest hits.
Of course he's not the best guitarist in the bad, so smart, but again fav not best.
Carlos Santana. He was great when he played Woodstock back in 1969 and he's still great.
Al DiMeola is the best electric guitarist that ever lived. Eddie Van Halen was the best ROCK electric guitarist.
MonoNeon and Charles Berthoud are the two best electric bassists alive.
