Also, be polite to the cop!
Treat them like they're a herd beast - because they are. You panic one of them and you've got a herd trampling through without a care in the world. Basically, they're like cattle. Stupid and prone to panic - which leads to a stampede. You do not want them stampeding. So, speak slowly and clearly, while making no sudden movements, and most of all remain calm - even if they appear to want to be aggressive.
Seriously, I should write a book on dealing with cops.
I just got done talking to the cops. I don't know why they had to come over here. I know if someone calls 911 they are going to how up no matter what you say to them. But I called the non-emergency line.
I just learned that Verle is in the hospital. I don't know what for but Chris is going to call me when he finds out
He probably needed you to sign the statement saying your shit was stolen. He did make you sign something, right? If not, they may eventually come back for a formal statement. They can't really do that over the phone, 'cause they could be talking to anyone. They don't need to verify your ID, they're cops - they can just point and say that's the guy and it's believed by the judge. But, they will (maybe) want a sworn statement, something you signed saying your shit got stolen.
Hmm... This is Verle... I'm gonna guess heart attack, mild and not too bad - but a warning sign of what's to come if he doesn't get his shit squared away. He'll pretend to change his ways for less than two weeks before resuming his previous behaviors.
That's my official guess based on absolutely nothing.
Im talking to him now. He said he had problems breathing, and had cardiac arrest. But he did not have a heart attack. He might be getting out tomorrow
