Once again, it's time for the FNGT!

If you don't know how this works, . That link will take you to another site to give you some additional information and tell you about some of our off-site features. That's also the site where we will host the weekly guitar threads, should Poal go down.

NOTE: That site is by invitation only. If you want an invite, and you're a regular participant, then just ask Crazy, or myself.

If you do know what's going on, you probably don't need to click that link - but you may want to, to make sure you know of the other features, such as the archive or a separate forum that's invite only.

Remember, we are guests here on Poal. Let's act like it. If you're interested in supporting Poal, then .

I never tried to wind a pickup

get the cheapo amazon one took about 30 once i got adjusted to tension. i would make a suggestion and build a jig so wire can only travel so far on x axis and you can use a drill to wind it out in about 5 minutes to be honest. order a set of tone kraft bobbins pick your magnets can do different size different types any combo you want then get 42,43 or 44awg and wind them out. use a scatter wound method for mid and treb or a constant for that muddy bassy mid tone.

I am not sure if I really want to get in to doing all that, I could just have someone like you make some for me LoL

lololol id gladly make some. check tone kraft figure out what type of bobbin setup and think on what wire size you want plus what how you want it(ohms and m/t or b/m) and viola it ends up at my house . they get wound they get shipped to another house and hopefully some one would be happy and thankful and enjoyed them. to do humbuckers you just have to buy those type of bobbins. in what spec you want.

I've got this strat copy that was a walmart special beginners guitar for $30 including an amp! That an artist friend of mine carved snakes in to the body of and it looks really cool but the pick ups are real cheap. SIngle coil three pickup strat, the guitar plays great actually. Great action and stays in tune pretty good.

Suggestion would be 43awg wire 7/16 spacing on bobbin for wire and run 6600[neck] 6200[ mid] and 6900[bridge] use alnico 2 for ease use alnico 5 for dg use the .195 thick magnets for all should net you a nice late 60's strat with a bite over the standard 42 awg wire used and .187 alnico 2 magnets used as well. DG magnets would help out on tonal changes with the alnico 2,s to a brighter stage with that nice low down bass single coils provide
