**** INTRO ****

Once again, it's time for the FNGT!

If you don't know how this works, . That link will take you to another site to give you some additional information and tell you about some of our off-site features. That's also the site where we will host the weekly guitar threads, should Poal go down.

NOTE: That site is by invitation only. If you want an invite, and you're a regular participant, then just ask Crazy, or myself.

If you do know what's going on, you probably don't need to click that link - but you may want to, to make sure you know of the other features, such as the archive or a separate forum that's invite only.

Remember, we are guests here on Poal. Let's act like it. If you're interested in supporting Poal, then .

I do not remember you being a critical or hypocritical ex drinker.

I have never worried about my drinking, I do like to get drunk occasionally. But I have seen so many people who are real true alcoholics, who won't stop drinking until they run out and only then long enough to take a nap

I played guitar for about an hour - since last sending a reply - while the show is on. I'm mostly interested in the pictures, as I know plenty about JWT already.

I gotta say, Washburn made a good guitar. I got a solid top Washburn that was pretty much new for less than $180. New, it's up around $325 to 350 (depending on where you buy it). Mine was one that sat in the store too long. It has some very, very light scratches from being played a bit by people in their store (they're a Washburn dealer). So, basically, I have the floor model for about half price.

It's fucking amazing how cheap you can buy a guitar right now. The prices have actually gone up in many instances - and it's still insane how much you can buy a cheap guitar that's actually playable.

Speaking of which, there are some pretty good reviews for guitars made by Donner. I may have to pick one of those up.

Biff reminded me earlier that I haven't done a full guitar count since the last time I did one. We're gotta be approaching 300 now. I'm buying a bunch of ceiling hangers this week. I want to call and ask some questions first, but then I'm buying some pretty sweet ones. They're store displays, but I still want them.

ceiling hangers as in guitars to hang on the ceiling?

If only Opie was as smart as James Webb...

And, yeah, to hang guitars from the ceiling. Lemme get you a link...

I have similar already, but they only hold one guitar. They're angled so that I can fit more in a row.

No, if anything I urged you on to drink even more! Drink some on my behalf!

Yeah, I used to drink a lot like that. I'd go to bed with a drink on my nightstand so that I had a drink to wake up to. I did that all while working, 'cause I'd have to drink to sleep due to insomnia and needing to put the hours in at work. I was a functional alcoholic for many years - by every definition I was an alcoholic. I had true physical dependency on alcohol, with full-on physical withdrawal symptoms.

I'd probably drink the equivalent of a 12 pack most days.

I functioned like that. I functioned well enough to do everything I did accomplish. So, I was definitely a functional drunk...

The thing is, I never lied, cheated, or stole to support my addictions. I had, and still have, ethics.

LOL At one point, I sold some things to maintain my habits... This was a long, long time ago - probably something I've never told you...

I used to sling weed - like a lot of it. I supplied small-time dealers, selling 2 to 4 pounds (technically 2.2 to 4.4 pounds - or up to 2 kg) of weed every week. I sold a bunch to regular people, but the bulk of it was selling ounces to quarter pounds to small dealers.

But, I never lied, cheated, or stole anything to support my habits. Shit, as tempting as it was, I never sold a single guitar to support my habit! In fact, I did a whole lot of trading for guitar-gear when I dealt. I'm pretty sure some of what I received was stolen, but I personally didn't steal it and have no way of being completely sure that it was stolen!

I hope it's good. It's about the new James Webb telescope. I've seen some of the pictures already, live when they were revealed to the public and three sent to me privately. So, I'm excited....

Yeah, you missed it. You can catch it again in 4 hours, if you want.

I find this shit fascinating. I've been rooting for the project since day one.
