Yeah, it's one way... Right now, gas is like $5.25+ a gallon right now - only I'd be paying $6.25ish a gallon 'cause I'm buying diesel for my giant truck that might get 25 MPG going downhill. Add the weight of an empty trailer and wind resistance and I'm gonna get like 20 MPG. Then, on the way back, it's gonna be like 12 MPG - maybe up to 15 MPG at times.
I could go through Canada - where you can't - but then I'd have to pay Canadian rates for fuel and those are likely to be even more expensive.
So, I'm talking close to $1400 in fuel just to go there and back.
That is an expensive tow. Imagine if I called a wrecker to tow me there, they would charge ten grand!
That's why you don't call a wrecker. You call Pilot. They carry all sorts of cars so they can time it so that your car is traveling with other cars they're hauling - reducing the overall cost by quite a bit. Pilot might charge you $500 or something like that - maybe a bit more with current fuel prices.
Is Pilot running semi truck car carriers?
That would make a lot more sense
