Once again, it's time for the FNGT!

If you don't know how this works, . That link will take you to another site to give you some additional information and tell you about some of our off-site features. That's also the site where we will host the weekly guitar threads, should Poal go down.

NOTE: That site is by invitation only. If you want an invite, and you're a regular participant, then just ask theBuddha, or myself.

If you do know what's going on, you probably don't need to click that link - but you may want to, to make sure you know of the other features, such as the archive or a separate forum that's invite only.

Remember, we are guests here on Poal. Let's act like it. If you're interested in supporting Poal, then .

Yeah that is the same way they do it around here, except for the random visits. At least that I know of. I was at a dealers house smoking some up when his PO and a couple cops came knocking on the door and he was like I'm not answering it, if they have a warrant they will kick the door in of they don't they will leave and just ignored them. I thought I was going to get in trouble. But they knocked for like half an hour and then just left and left a note on the door.

So... I've been thinking...

If you can play guitar, it doesn't matter what equipment you use. If you can't play guitar, it still doesn't matter what equipment you use!

They don't do a lot of random visits, just so we're clear. It's pretty uncommon. They have huge caseloads, large distances, and tend to wait for you to get in trouble before they go bugging you. Now, if you're a complete fuck-up, they're gonna come visit you. Opie could expect a weekly meeting and probably a visit every couple of months. They might also spot check to ensure they're taking therapy and AA seriously.

"If you can play guitar, it doesn't matter what equipment you use. If you can't play guitar, it still doesn't matter what equipment you use!"

So it simply just does not matter what equipment you use for playing guitar?

That's how I felt all along. As long as you have a functional guitar

I am thinking he will probably stay sober for the next 90 days, as he will be tested 4 times a day, but after that...

Nah, in reality it kinda matters. You're not going to consistently get good results out of a shitty guitar - meaning things like being able to play for hours with it staying in tune, proper intonation, and then ease of playing. Sure, you can just play it loud and that compensates for a lot, but it's not really totally true.

It's just kinda a generalization.

Good gear will sound better in the end. Like, recording on a cell phone isn't going to give you better results than recording in a studio that has proper recording gear with microphones that cost more than your guitar collection.

But, yeah... A good musician can make shitty gear sound okay. A shitty musician can't really make good equipment sound all that good.

So, it's a bit of a generalization.

Sure, I can play classical guitar on a Hello Kitty guitar - or I can play it on a $20,000 guitar and actually sound objectively better.
