They need to play as many places that can afford them.
Did you enjoy the drive in the dart?
Are you officially a non smoker?
The Dart was an experience. In many ways, it reminds me of driving an old E-type. It probably sounds a bit like a cliche, but that's how it is.
On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd rate the experience a solid six. (Now to give it a Doug Score...)
It's not very well made, but it's very light and has plenty of power. I wouldn't want to go top speed in it. The steering is vague, but works about as well as you'd expect an old E-type to work. The brakes, while disk, are certainly nothing to write home about. It accelerates well enough, I'd guess 0 to 60 might be somewhere around 6 to 8 seconds - but I never did a 0 to 60 run in it to see.
It's got a style all its own. So, it has that going for it. It didn't leave me stranded, but it could use some carb adjustments and maybe advancing the timing a little. It's got a cute little exhaust note, which isn't even remotely V-8 like. So, it could probably do with some improvements.
At the end of the day, it is what it is. It was pretty fun to drive it around - and unique enough for me to enjoy it. I agree with what I said earlier. I'm not sure if I got a good deal on it, but it's worth what I paid. I'd sell it, but I'm going to want a lot more than what I paid for it, even though it only rates 6 out ot 10. Not all cars need to be, nor should they be, 10 out of 10. I like some variation in life.
And, I'm pretty close to a non-smoker. I've cheated a couple of times but got over that quick. I had a cigarette at the wedding and then had another the following day and it was disgusting. So, I'd say I'm pretty much a non-smoker.
Congratulations on the non smoker status.
Thanks! I still really want to smoke sometimes. I just don't do it. That's the willpower thing and it still takes quite a bit of willpower.
I know it'll get easier in time. I also keep telling myself that it's okay to have one or two a day. I just don't do it.
But, anyhow... That's what it's like to drive a Daimler Dart. It's fun. It has its charms. They can't all be track-focused monsters. I like the variety of my collection. I'm actually thinking about sending this one back to the mechanics early, as they never operated it at speed. So, they didn't notice the carb issues or that the timing seems off when your RPMs hit 4500 or so.
The good news? It's not some track monster. LOL It's simple enough that I could fix it. There's no special tools required for anything - except the wheels. To remove the wheels you need a hammer. I have a ton of special hammers for just that thing, plus there's one in the trunk.
