It's a potential business idea. You can have the idea free and clear.

Hell, this is close enough to being 'in writing' as the courts would require these days, so I can't really change my mind. The concept belongs to you. Don't forget to patent every concept you can within the whole concept. Don't just do one patent, patent every little thing. You can even patent code concepts.

This isn't even the only 'million dollar idea' that I have kicking around in my skull.

Take a bomb robot, a Roomba, and a LIDAR system. Put the LIDAR system on a mast on the robot and give it Roomba's software.

Building collapses, mining, cave exploration, etc... You just send the robot in and it automatically finds its way around and creates a perfect 3D model. Add photogrametry to it if you want.

Gotta rescue folks from a mine? Wanna really detect for bombs? Wanna go into a collapsed building to find survivors? The list of uses goes on. That's easily worth millions. Easily... Hell, they can use it before they send the bomb robot in. Even the police can use it instead of entering a building.

Wouldnt a roomba be stopped by the debris of an explosion?

It's on tracks. It will keep trying until it finds a path. If it can't find a path, it will still map what it can. It's not perfect, it's just good enough. It can be stopped, but it'll be pretty capable. They make bomb robots that can even climb stairs now. So, it should be a pretty capable robot.

It would be good to rescue people that need help desperately
