Once again, it's time for the FNGT!

If you don't know how this works, . That link will take you to another site to give you some additional information and tell you about some of our off-site features. That's also the site where we will host the weekly guitar threads, should Poal go down.

NOTE: That site is by invitation only. If you want an invite, and you're a regular participant, then just ask theBuddha, or myself.

If you do know what's going on, you are most likely either new here or completely retarded, you probably don't need to click that link - but you may want to, to make sure you know of the other features, such as the archive or a separate forum that's invite only.

Remember, we are guests here on Poal. Let's act like it. If you're interested in supporting Poal, then .

NOTE: Next weekend is going to be the Halloween version of the FNGT, so come up with something scary for all the kids.

Okay wait. Hold up. I think I got something here.

Yes, I do.

An incredible acoustic guitar cover version of The Beach Boys' "Little Deuce Coup."

Okay, it's goofy...but you all did say anybody and anything (almost).

Messing around here (next time I'll tune my guitar).

https://files.catbox.moe/zwmgfq.m4a

[–] 1 pt

That rocks the house!

Beach Boys are as American as it gets.

[–] 1 pt

And now for some Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens).

Kidding. Although I do like Peace Train and a few others.

Thank-you, I know I sound kinda goofy lol.

[–] 1 pt

LOL That was awesome.

The song is about a '32 Ford, which I do not yet own. It's on my list to buy, if I find one at a price I'm willing to pay - and in a condition I'm willing to invest in.

The Beach Boys did quite a few songs that involved cars.

[–] 2 pts

Thanks! LOL.

I've seen American Graffiti a hundred times.

What was John Milner's car do you know?

[–] 2 pts

That'd be the aforementioned '32 Coupe - otherwise known as 'little deuce coupe' as it was from the year 32. The two refers to the year. It was a yellow '32 Ford Coupe.

[–] 1 pt

I love it! It has a rawness and spirit of fun that is great to experience and listen to.

Some of the most fun I've had is bashing out tunes on my old acoustic.

[–] 1 pt

Thank-you I appreciate that!

Yeah I have a lot of fun the same way, it's satisfying.

[–] 1 pt

What a rousing rendition! I enjoyed that! Thanks for sharing

[–] 1 pt

LOL I appreciate that. It's pretty wild and I croak a little! Need to tune my axe man.

(Thought I'd get things rolling, I'll do better next recording...maybe.)

[–] 2 pts

You can get a tuner for free on a cell phone these days

[–] 3 pts

I took the shitty song idea that I posted last week (Gorilla Cookies) and tried to turn it into a song. This is the result.

[–] 2 pts

I wondered how this was going to turn out. The guitar tone is great. The vocals are good too. It all works very well.

[–] 2 pts

Thanks much. Fwiw, the lead guitar is run through a Foxx Tone Machine clone pedal that I built.

[–] 2 pts (edited )

Wow man! That's awesome, I really like it.

Did you work from a kit set or is it your own design?

[–] 1 pt

Hell fucking yeah! That is top notch man! Awesome song! I'm going to listen to that again!

[–] 1 pt

I like the guitar and bassline crispy

[–] 3 pts

I have internet connectivity issues.

Today's track is one that you've likely only heard once, at most. Some of you may have never heard it before. I put it in the wrong folder, it should be under BDE. This was recorded in my studio, but it was the band rehearsing.

Enjoy!

[–] 2 pts

Yeah man that's beautiful.

[–] 1 pt

Thanks! Glad ya liked it. We've got a really good keys player, which helps a great deal.

[–] 1 pt (edited )

One of the great things about your work is getting to hear a perfect backing track without the vocals. It's really something special.

Great song too. Thanks for sharing.

[–] 1 pt

Thanks. Glad ya like it. It is indeed a great song. It stands alone just fine, even without the vocals.

Granted, we'd perform it with vocals, but that's not what we were rehearsing at the time. I'm far more concerned with the music than I am with the vocals. I find the vocals come "easy" with some wiggle room. The music has to be tight. The folks paying for us to be there want to dance and drink. So, make the music worth their money. They worked hard for that money. They should get a good show.

[–] 0 pt

I am listening to this for quite some time now. Sounds great. Like perfect

[–] 0 pt

We're pretty tight and that's a great song to play. The audience eats it up.

[–] 1 pt

Hell yeah! I was eating it up

[–] 3 pts

Howdy yaw sorry it's been awhile but busy with work and hands been hurting

https://files.catbox.moe/3b9l09.m4a

Looking forward to good music tonight I'll find yours since your excited

[–] 1 pt

That was great. Some good blues as you progress.

Love that kind of music, and words.

Are you playing some minor chords in there? Probably you are.

Has an exotic (if that's the right word) and great bluesy feel to it.....

[–] 2 pts

I used a few chords but I only know finger patterns not names lol. The chords were a mix of Hank Williams and SRV and Jeff Healey. Love the blues old old and old I don't keep up with much of the new these days but do check out Joe bonamassa and Beth Hart

[–] 1 pt

Old old old is right, yep.

My grandparents knew Hank and I have a photo of them drinking together at a table, with Ernest Tubb and Jimmy Rodgers' wife next to them.

[–] 0 pt

I like it. Thanks for sharing.

[–] 0 pt

Thats a cool blues tune man. I wasn't sure what to think at the beginning, but it got way better as it went! Thanks for sharing that!

[–] 1 pt

I don't have anyone to play with so I struggle a lot in areas. Hand hurt allot to. Doing iron work doesn't help

[–] 0 pt

I liked it

[–] 1 pt

Same as what I was thinking lol..

[–] 2 pts

Hi everyone. Hope you're all good. I made up this here little ditty this past week, I need to come up with some words for it, I think it could be a good start for a song.

[–] 1 pt

I like it. It has an almost melancholy feel and yeah I got a Floyd vibe from it too.

Cool tune, I hope you develop that more.

[–] 1 pt

Im going to have to, my brain wont stop thinking about it until I do

[–] 1 pt

Great! I look forward to hearing it.

[–] 1 pt (edited )

Hello bro! It IMMEDIATELY me think of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h16DmdQvxB0

I'm not kidding, I'm sorry, just like in less than 30 seconds I was like "I know that"

[–] 0 pt

It does sound like theres the same chords in there, just different

How you been, long time no see

[–] 1 pt

I'm "good", thanks for asking. Inflation has nearly killed me. I have heating oil for my home heat and need to spend like $500 for 2 months of heat. We are both in WI if IIRC. Chords close, but same progression IMHO. It's beautiful, but I don't know your age. Fore me I'm old enough to have heard it back then, not knowing when I play it. NGL it is a beautiful progression, but those changes... I never would have come up with them . that;s some 5+ chorus and interval change back to verse. Thats some music theory, I don't think we are good enough at, and it's like some sub-conscious thing IMHO.

[–] 1 pt

That's great. It sounds like a meshing of Norwegian Wood and Wild Horses. Nice.

[–] 1 pt

Thanks. I don't know what the hell it is. I know I need words and more. It somehow reminds me of pink floyd

[–] 1 pt

Ah yeah! That's what was in the back of my mind when I was listening.

[–] 0 pt

That does sound bigger, articulate, and brighter!

Also, I think they have a generator with the towers. So, it may have been longer than the last power outage. It might be a battery backup, like a UPS, 'cause I normally have cell service unless the power's out for quite a while. So, I assume they've got some sort of UPS.

Which just means there's an additional target to aim for!

[–] 0 pt

I figured you would enjoy to hear it with the new strings. I played it without a pick on the left and with a pick on the right and combined them.

[–] 0 pt

I didn't listen to last week's track, now that I think of it. I probably should have, as I meant to. Saturday rolled around and I was busy as fuck for most of the day...

[–] 1 pt

Hey all, Been a long time. Next week maybe I'll dump all my shit I "wrote" and ask for what is good and bad. At least what I uploaded. I hav about 250 riffs and "songs", most just sent to copyright, about 30 uploaded.

[–] 0 pt

you can share a couple a week instead of 250 at once

[–] 1 pt

Also like 90% not uploaded, but 50% already shared in old threads.

[–] 1 pt

LOL not really, just gonna do a dump of like 10-20 uploaded. The 250 is what I copyrighted.

[–] 0 pt

LoL I thought you were going to share 250 songs next week LoL

[–] 1 pt

This is something I'm working on atm

[–] 1 pt

That was cool. Really interesting. Reminds me of a Daniel Johnson song

[–] 1 pt

Thanks.

[–] 1 pt

You're welcome. Thanks for sharing!

[–] 1 pt

Nice to see all you cool cats here. Keep on rocking. Like these cats: There was Frankie Lymon, Bobby Fuller, Mitch Ryder (They were rockin') Jackie Wilson, Shangri-Las, Young Rascals (They were rockin')

[–] 1 pt

It looks like we are going to have unseasonably warm weather all weekend here so I am encouraging everyone to get outside and get together with some friends and have some beers in the
