I think it's just him and like a tambourine type of thing - like bells somewhere. None of what I watched really showed him clearly. I didn't pay too much attention as I was otherwise engaged while listening, but I did watch a bit and I didn't see a drummer banging on traditional drums.

I could have easily missed that. I figured he was playing one of those foot operated tambourine thingies but didn't investigate further.

there might be a tambourine that was not visible, that might be what was throwing me off, I didn't even think of that, but that would make sense

They make a tambourine thingy that works just like the kicker on a bass drum, though the mallet head is usually software and smaller. They're pretty similar.

He could also have had bells attached to his percussion guitar (for lack of a better word).

Also, it's a movie - but it's got some awesome talent in it. Have you ever watched August Rush?

he's got to have something, I was hearing things that were not sounds made by a guitar string or body, like cymbal type sounds, though now I know, there are possibilities
