You're welcome. I did a rare four banger today!
The band is coming over to jam tomorrow so I am going to have the new strings on the V before they get here
LOL The missus came up to me and asked for some help. She wanted me to play "Here I Go Again" by Whitesnake. She was having issues with the timing. I haven't played the song in YEARS. I listened to it once through, but forwarded through the sections I remembered, and then had her restart the song on YouTube.
I nailed it. I straight fuckin' nailed it. My timing was impeccable. I even nailed the solo.
It's actually a bit of a challenge to play for most. I know it took some effort to learn it back in the day. I completely fuckin' ripped it, not even a slight delay in my performance!
She's baffled as to how I can keep this many songs stored in my memory. Frankly, had I not listened to it first I'd have been unable to play it. But, once I heard the intro it just all comes flooding back to me. I'm not sure why it works that way, but it does work that way. I really haven't played the song in years, which is unfortunate 'cause it's a great "guitar" song.
LoL awesome
Yeah, it doesn't seem like four years - but I can assure you that it has been.
The date was October 28, 2018.
Well, I'm pretty sure it was. That's the date stuck in my memory!
And, yeah, it's amazing how quick the songs come back to me. I don't really understand the mechanism, but the song 'floods back to me' and I just know how to play it. The song isn't even one of those obvious songs, it's one with some legit challenges.
Nice!
Again, be sure to listen to the V before you throw good strings on it. I'm pretty sure the strings I sent for the electric are a bit above average, so that's what I've been waiting to hear - and waiting for you to hear.
Also, when the ones on the acoustic start to sound dead, don't be bashful - let me know. I'll either send more strings or I won't, but go ahead and mention it. There are like a dozen other string brands I think you should try and it's not like you're gonna spend the money on strings when there's more pressing expenses! (Like beer!)
The ones you have on it now actually still sound good - based on your recordings. That's good. They're lasting longer, probably due to the many advances in string tech.
Also, you so gotta try coated strings!!!
I've mentioned that they deaden the sound a bit, but it's not a huge difference. They also last forever, perhaps forever and a day. I have a bass (you've heard it played) that I put coated strings on - years ago. Like a couple/three years ago. Like, not too long after the wreck, so a few years ago?
Also, the wreck was 4 years ago. Yeah...
That was four years ago...
So much has changed since then!
That's a fast four years
