If you start as a guitar player, it's not too hard to transition to five or six string bass guitars.
Speaking of which, I've been enjoying a Fodera Monarch that's a 4 string fretless. I love a fretless bass. If you're going to get an acoustic bass, consider getting one that's fretless and with a decent fretboard radius.
i'd be ok with a sweet acoustic bass fretless with a builtin pickup. thugh i do wanna try a 6 strong out. i aint nearly the best but i'd enjoy it though lol and bug you guys with it on fridays i can post.
I have an obscene number of guitars - but I don't have a six string acoustic. I have a straight acoustic 4 string and one that has on-board electronics. Oh, and I have one 4 string from Ovation which I like a great deal.
so ovation is a guitar maker? thought they were starter basses or something
