Pretty much anywhere but North Korea, and I've applied for a visa to visit the NorKs three times.
Any other place on the planet will let me in and let me stay as long as I want. That doesn't mean I want to live in those places - but I could.
I think I picked the perfect place to retire (for me). I can see other people not getting the appeal, and maybe they'd pick somewhere else. That's fine. It's not their life, nor is it their money.
You have everything you need right where you are
I do, but I also like change. I like challenges, though I'd not be too terribly challenged in Alaska. I'd live in a village and just pay people to do what I need and I'd eat food from a grocery store 'cause I'm not gonna fucking eat seal and walrus. I've eaten seal before - and I'm told walrus tastes like whale (which I have had).
I'd do my own hunting and fishing, though I'd need a guide until I knew the land well enough.
But, ain't no way I'm gonna give up Maine.
It would be a whole different lifestyle in alaska
