So long as she can recognize two objects as being similar, she should be able to figure it out. If not, she could just watch a YouTube video or three and figure it out from there.

She might not know how to tighten it.

I'd restretch the strings, make sure they slide through the nut, and play it some. The strings should settle in that way. I'm surprised that we're even having this conversation as those strings are normally more than acceptable.
