That sucks, sorry to hear you lost a friend.
Yeah, it's a part of getting old I suppose... The longer you live, the more people you outlive.
Ugh... It's the holiday season too. I really don't want to fly to Colorado for a funeral. I don't want to drive, either. Well, it'd be a fun drive and you haven't have funeral without 'fun'!
But, I don't have the time to do all that.
Are you going to go?
Maybe. They don't have an exact date for anything. I knew he was ill but nobody had contacted me in a while, so I figured they were otherwise engaged.
I'm not terribly close with the family. We've met a few times. I just got off the phone, again, with the widow. She was hinting that their savings were low due to the medical bills and that a funeral might be too expensive. I suspect they'd like a few bucks but don't know how to ask.
So, instead of going it may make more sense to just send 'em enough money to cover funeral expenses. I had Biff on another call getting some flowers sent.
I don't mind that. It's cheaper than chartering a plane, paying for lodging, and then flying back.
