I think that describes your music about as well as I could come up with.

It puts you in the same category as people like Blackberry Smoke that I recently mentioned.

Not all folk is people sitting around singing Kumbaya. I'd put Johnny Cash in the American Folk category. Then, you go back to people like Woody Guthrie, who was quite a rebel. Well, his son Arlo Guthrie is also American Folk.

It's a pretty expansive category and not a bad category to belong to.

And, just 'cause you're overall in the Americana category doesn't mean you can't throw down a metal tune. The two aren't mutually exclusive. The Americana category is just a generalized statement about most of your work. You can even do a jazz piece and still be in the American Folk category.
