LOL That's not even remotely as many as I have had before. I only made one turkey and one ham for this one. Well, it was more a chunk of pig that included the ham hock.
You should see what happens at Christmas. I'll have as many as a couple hundred people roll through starting on Christmas Eve. I give out pre-paid debit cards and a giant spaghetti feast. I'll make 15 qts of sauce and sometimes need to make more. Kids get extra.
I do this every year. Even when I'm not here, I had my son and his friend drive around and deliver the cards.
The amusing thing is I kinda hate the holiday season. I'm a Buddhist so they don't really hold special meaning as holidays. They do make it so that I can see friends and family. They do make it so that I can share. I value the days because of that, not because they're some day on a calendar.
The getting together with family and friends I don't see very often is what the holiday is really about for me
Yup. That's all that matters to me - plus it gives me a good reason, excuse if you will, and situation to give back. I buy a whole lot of $25 Visa cards from my credit union (they know to have them ready for me each year) and use those as gifts for anyone who shows up. We fill up a bunch of Christmas cards. I'll also buy a bunch of toys and kids get extra. Usually, if you show up with yourself and your wife, you'll get one card between you, but people who have kids will get a card for each of the kids and one for the adults. Then, if I have a toy I'll hook 'em up.
I enjoy it. It started off smaller, with me just inviting people I mostly knew from the local bar to come have dinner on Christmas Eve. These days, I'll get visitors as late as New Years Day, but most show up on Christmas Eve and Christmas.
I'm 100% sure I've mentioned this in the thread at least five times. LOL We've been doing the thread that long and I know I've mentioned it multiple times. I even mentioned that I was having it done by my son and co when I was in Virginia. Though, I suppose, those conversations could have been directed at COF but I'm pretty sure we've had this conversation before.
Also, Google will need to wait like 30 days and they may unlock my account. I'm not really sure what 'invalid traffic' means. It's not 'invalid clicks' so I don't know what to think about it. I've done some reading and the best choice for me right now is to wait.
I do remember you telling me that you would invite the public over on Christmas Eve every year and everyone who showed up whether you knew them or not was welcomed with open arms and you gave a card to everyone who came to your door. I do remember that!
