I was thinking you could build a tube frame car to suit the kind of body you would want

That's not an area you want to skimp on - and not where the bulk of the cost is going to be. The bulk is going to be the body and second place is gonna be the interior. The frame might as well be good.

I did not consider a body being super expensive.

The body is gonna eat up a lot of hours - a lot of expensive hours.

Go take a look at just the door on your Jag. Now, consider what it's gonna take to make that. Your 200k might get a fab company to consider it. But, I suspect they'd want that as a down payment.
