Maybe some juvenile delinquents were having some fun and taking detour signs down!
Maybe? There was a ton of road work going on in the area, with adequate signage at that. It's NY. They do signs right. They have some of the best signage in the country.
Yes, these are the weird things I know 'cause of my career...
Georgia is hands-down the worst. They try hard, but then they try hard...
I do know that driving in Atlanta is a nightmare at 3 or 4 in the afternoon. I never had any other problems driving in Georgia. When I went to New York I just took a taxi
LOL Georgia...
Lemme give you an example...
Trucks like to stop on the side of the highway, near an exit, to wait for things to open and to not clock it as driving time.
Of course, on a limited access highway you're not supposed to stop except for emergencies.
Well, Georgia has another law that says you can't stop (except for emergencies) within 1 mile of an exit from a limited access highway.
Starting a mile away from the exit, Georgia puts up signs saying that you can't stop within 1 mile of an exit except for emergencies.
Then, they keep putting up those signs. Sometimes, the signs are 100' apart by the time you're down to the last half mile before the exit. So, you've got a row of these signs that are completely redundant, but they're stacked with them. Literally, sometimes within 100' of each other.
It's like they expect everyone to be 'Georgia-level retarded' and thus they need to be reminded every 15 seconds or so at highway speed.
Don't get me started on their ability to line the highways with marking lanes...
But, yeah, the Ring Around Atlanta sucks during certain times of the day. If you want to time it properly, time it so that you're there at like 03:00 on a Sunday morning.
