That is true. However, for a long time the age of "maturity" at least in the USA has been considered to be 18. In some cases they are saying it needs to be changed to at least 21-25.

There is no such thing as "age of maturity" however it's not a conversation I'll have here due to where it inevitably ends up. Guns are toys, done. They aren't for the government to even think about, let alone make laws on. If a 5 year old goes into a store to buy a gun it's on the store to deny sale, not the government to restrict it. That comes with a high-trust, high-morals society.

No argument there. I prefer "tools" rather than toys but then again some tools are toys too so that's fine. The point I was getting at seems to be the same one you were saying. We live in a nanny state and expect the government to make everything "safe" for us. Rather than take personal responsibility for our own actions we cry out and say "Make it so it cant be unsafe anymore!".

No. They can be used as a tool, but they are not tools. Guns are toys, they're fun, it's not that they "can be used for fun" it's that they are fun.
