What blows my mind is, then, what are all the other symbols— phonetically speaking? 'cause our alphabet maps to only a fraction of what you see on . Fuck, I wish I could learn to read ancient Egyptian without going to indoctrination-camp for a gillion years and for a zillion dollars.

Online learning stuff is starting to pop up all over now. Some are shit, some are ok, some are somewhat good. You might be able to grab a lesson plan or get an actual online class for cheap.
Maybe it's like symbols and logos seen today? All that might say is some advertisement.
That's my point, though. I'm tired of having to rely on some asshole, with an agenda, to tell me what's on there. I want to read the sign for myself: "RAMESSES' SUPER KABOB-EXPRESS! 2-4-1 SPECIAL TUESDAY AFTER 4PM!" Instead of some dickhead telling it's something about how I should listen to jews more.
That made me laugh a hell of a lot. Imagine if they found some reliable way to translate everything written in an ancient language and it was stuff like what you said, or "KING TUT WAS HERE"
