It's not surprising that liberals suffer from this delusion - it permeates their thinking on every topic. No matter whether we're talking about minimum wage, college educations, or immigration, liberals cannot understand that the very source of a thing's value derives from its unequal distribution. In other words, the more scarce a thing is in relation to the demand for it, the more it's worth. A college education used to command a large salary premium because there weren't as many college graduates as there was demand for them. Now there is a glut of college graduates and they're not worth as much. If 100% of people receive a college education, it will have no economic value whatsoever.

The same holds true for the supply of low-skilled labor. It's astoundingly stupid of liberals to support open borders and bemoan the plight of poor people at the same time. They're literally driving the value of jobs into the ground with their ideology and then complaining about it as if someone else is responsible. If they really wanted jobs to pay more they would know closing the immigration spigot would have that result immediately.

Exactly. They want all of these wonderful things in regards to payments, gibs, etc for the poor but then hurt the poor with open borders of cheap labor. Also remember college was much more demanding back then for only the top 10-15% on the IQ scale. But the lowered the standards, dumbed down the curriculum and let virtually anyone in. Employers are politically correct but they know what's up and realized that the quality product coming out college was not the same.

Brother-in-law's girlfriend is a college grad lab technician. Last Christmas the two of them were reminiscing on their shared 100 level chemistry class and she mentioned how the tests were curved so much that she remembers getting a "B" with a score of 64%. I jested "you can get a degree with scores like that, huh?". "Yep!"

Imagine, hospital lab techs with a tenuous, at best, grasp on chemistry. And people wonder why I don't trust (((modern medicine))).

Yes, certain college courses/ majors graded on a curve.
