So, not only the paper industry, but the steel industry as well played a roll in making hemp / cannabis illegal?

That sledgehammer test... I'm curious what a collision test would show.

I agree. The resin recipe he used was destroyed as were all the cars and panels. It would certainly be interesting to see an impact with it.

But it also opens the door for a composite of thin steel and a hemp composite.

For all the talk of impact resistance it would be interesting to learn how well it resists the environment. Something as simple as UV can destroy many resins in a few short years.

That's exactly why it wasn't used. Has nothing to do with some conspiracy and hemp has never been illegal. Are we supposed to believe that anytime anybody has tried to create an industrial hemp product suddenly the men in black show up to confiscate their research and then flashy thing them so they forget? These kinds of conspiracies are as ridiculous as the "brooo our cars could run on water bro but oil and gas companies don't want you to know" theories.

Cotton also. Dungarees bade of hemp were nearly indestructible but cotton replaced them anyway? Yeah, big cotton had a hand in hemp being outlawed.

"The Emperor Wears No Clothes" by Jack E. Herer gives a very good accounting of all things cannabis related. The "powers" that were made cannabis illegal around the same time as prohibition of alcohol. When the US got pulled into the european conflict of the late 30's, the government pushed for renewed cannabis hemp production to help with the war effort. Frankly, I believe cannabis to the single most beneficial plant in existence known to mankind. Seriously, read that book for free online at

Read it back in 2008 or so when I just thought weed was tight. It made me realize that the hemp plant is actually the best thing ever.

Edit: my favorite part was the photocopies of source documents in the back, so retards like could get BTFOd

You'd also need to look into the DuPont family in relation to the vilification and outlawing of hemp. It was a major competitor to their synthetic fiber and wood based paper products.

Why aren't they using this today? We have carbon fiber, which is cheaper, and does the same thing.
