It seems to me that Stoic Philosophy is likely the best protection/treatment for this social disease. Life will always involve suffering, even more so during these times of madness. The Stoics provide a neutralizing agent against hopelessness that can prevent people from falling into the madness that is communism.

This is likely why Stoicism is NEVER taught in schools. Imagine if high schools taught Seneca and Marcus Aurelius, we would have hordes of strong individuals who have the tools to bear the burdens of life and move forward to a better future. For the people who are currently in control, this outcome is entirely against their plans. They want a docile, conformist and unthinking population that will comply with their every edict enthusiastically.

Ancient Greece gave birth to many philosophical currents, but for some reason the only thing recognized as important today is democracy, which, even in the different context of the times, undermined the future of the Athenian state.

Athenian democracy was very different to what we have now. It was the kind of system that would be ideal in a society of scholars and philosophers. Everyone was called to serve in the senate like jury duty. The rules though were that all 4 grandparents must be athenian (no half bloods, quarter bloods, immigrants etc), no women no children. Only pureblooded athenian men were allowed to participate.

Seems to me that those are just fancy synonyms for "just give up and go along to get along because you can't stop any of the madness!"

When the source of the madness, a subset of individuals running the political and financial systems in the west, is provably stoppable. History shows us how it is stopped.

More people, more problems.

More elites, more problems.

So what do you get with less elites?

I only have a thin, surface level understanding of stoicism. It comes off as too pacifistic too me. That, and I don't believe it is alluring enough to most teens and young adults to effectively supplant the zog programming blasted at them from all other angles.

Not to mention, propaganda against it is very effective, considering the few young practitioners I've seen online are typically the butt of cringe joke.
