While you are right, we don't live by daylight, we live by clocks.
So if all clocks say 8am then the banks aren't open and the trains aren't running.
If they all say 9pm all the bars are swinging and the movie theaters packed.
The sun in relation to our clocks is whats important, and having more sunlight later is infinitely more beneficial than having it earlier
