Yeah, that's not a good idea, you can also fuck up your thyroid by taking too much iodine. Japs get a lot in their diet, like 1.5 drops a day equivalent, but they've evolved eating that diet forever. I wouldn't do more than a couple drops a week.
1 drop of 2% = about 1mg of iodine. You are supposed to get 150 micrograms a day "recommended", or 0.15mg. That's the minimum, so about a drop a week for the bare minimum. 2 seems reasonable.
