That’s correct. I could also add a function to check if the post title or content contains mentions to the owner or mods before posting and skip the sub notification when it’s the case.
Ah, that was another thing I was curious about; do mentions in post titles trigger a notification to that tagged user. Your statement noting mentions in post titles would seem to mean that they do. That's good to know, despite that I very rarely tag others.

And some users are using mentions in both titles and content at the same time, which currently results in two notifications for the same post, and a third one if that sub is owned or modded by the mentioned account.
Oh, geez. I've almost never used mentions until now other than tagging you on occasion, and other users I had tagged in the past sadly aren't around much or at all anymore. I'll be sure to not be disrespectful of poal resources and of other users by doing those things if I happen to use mentions more in the future.
