Nothing about the design of SystemD make sense until you realize that SystemD was compromised long ago by the spooks. They took Init.d, something that was lightweight and just did it's job, a critical system function, and did it really well... and replaced it for no convincingly good reason with a bloated POS that was so big that it was not easily reviewed for security issues. They intentionally created a very large attack surface and then hid very obscure vulnerabilities as a needle in a haystack of heir own creation. The security conscious users should consider using a distro that never adopted SystemD and stuck with Init.d

Problem is that for gamers (which like it or not is a large part of PC users), the only distros that offer solid performance with applications like Steam and Wine are based around Debian/Ubuntu. I've yet to find a distro that is as well optimized for Steam as Ubuntu and Wine is just...fussy outside of Debian or Unbuntu
