I just realized this is a good time to score some cheap—or free—older hardware that some Windows users had to abandon.
Aside from that, this website is a bit confusing. They call KDE an operating system, but it’s not. It’s a desktop environment that you can use in several Linux distributions. Anyone trying to make the switch on their own is going to be confused by that for a while.
At the bottom they link to endof10.org
, which doesn’t directly tell you how to install a distro with KDE. The there also leaves you to figure most of it out on your own. I guess they didn’t want to favor any single distro, but new users want to be told which one to use. Pick a Windows user friendly distro and give them a full step by step guide.
I hope there are better guides floating around.
