There are calories and there are calories. And not all calories are created equal. A calorie is a unit of measure. Protein satiety clocks in at a lower threshold than that of carbohydrates. Nutrients should be the focus of a sustainable dietary strategy. Weight loss is only an ancillary effect of a properly packaged diet and exercise regimen. Attitude, orientation and discipline will enable one to appreciate food as fuel and not just momentary mouth pleasure.
