A large portion of people on Reddit are privacy conscious. If they force some sketchy ID verification on everyone many of them will immediately flee to Reddit alternatives.

Moderators make communities? More like echo chambers. I can see keeping out the CP, calls to violence, and staying on sub's topic, but what those commie fucks do is basically echo chamber moderating. I am willing to bet every subreddit has a minimum of 1,000 bans at any given time.
