Who the hell would do an ID verification just to use reddit of all things?

If that's for the entire site reddit is toast.

I'm certainly not going to upload my IDs and facial data to a (((third party))) just so I can continue to troll communists.

A large portion of people on Reddit are privacy conscious. If they force some sketchy ID verification on everyone many of them will immediately flee to Reddit alternatives.
