I have noticed that surprisingly many presumably legitimate subverses on GVoat are disabled, including:

There were plenty more (post some in the comments if you know some more).

I have the suspicion that Voat auto-disables subverses that were inactive for a specific amount of time.
I don't know the exact conditions (how inactive posts and/or comments have to be), but there seems to be auto-subverse-deactivation going on.

Can anyone confirm?

it is Not automatic. Even I havent posted to v/Catpeoplehate in years yet its still up. I honestly dont know why it survived the Use It Or Lose It purge of inacvctive subs. About half of mine got killed and the other half didn't. tbh, there seemed little logic in which got whacked. No one had posted to any of them in ages.

To add, it likely is automatic as the admin has been MIA for 7 months now

usually you can claim them...(not speaking for them) if they disabled it was for reason

I doubt that is possible while their adminstrators are offline (missing in action).

ive been asked to attack subverves by gabara and other, was like like naw i aint about that. then users. then i went to say okay i will protect them

I was an extremely active user on voat, a typical day i would get 60-70 comments per day

I was banned from there because i was getting to powerful and could counter their downvote brigades that is why i was banned. I protected everyone and verses from them

the ccp system is meant to censor, this is admitted

they disabled them cause puttitout said the were being used for malicious attacks on the site it goes back to the spartacus(what ever his name was) bullshit that happened at the time

also puttitout wants to lose users, this is admitted by him.

It was about 5 months ago, give or take, there was a cryptic sticky saying "Use it or lose it." Turned out it was in regard to subs.

Maybe to reduce expenses?

I doubt that mass-disabling subverses noticeably reduces the expenses of maintaining the site.

They should give subverses a chance.

I think so, but not 100% sure if it's automatic.
