He has been talking for a long time about redoing the ownership and power system.

A reason to have a leader on a site like voat/poal is to ensure the site is funded and maintained. There is little requirement for actual leadership, because there is no need to influence the society.

And that is the problem. Voat is half shill/agenda and half people who just want to use a reddit clone.

In the end, true free speech is always self destructive. It is why I grilled boobs and the others so much when I first got here. What will you do to stop this from being another voat?

While a seemingly heartfelt apology and plan for the future, it does not address the most important thing. Voat is a one man show. The last two outages were caused by full disks that only that 1 man could fix. No amount of community rules will ever fix that.

Nothing has changed. Voat will go down again.

Even if he does finish it for himself or for the world, won't change the next time a disk gets full.

What makes me sad is the people gushing thanks for "saving" Voat again. Fuck man. When you are 1 deep, what do you expect? There is a 100% chance of this happening over and over. Transferring my subs.

I also don't understand Putt's view on alternative free speech sites. We need as many alternatives to pop up as possible.

Seems awful convenient how Voat keeps going offline for long periods of time during extremely interesting times.. such as the June 5th primaries.

Then Putt comes along and does his usual mental gymnastics of saying one thing, then contradicting it, then contradicting he contradiction leading to nothing more than a garbled mess really only deserving that of a stoned autist.

Seems like bullshit to me. Creating a system to let Voat "self manage" will just lead to shill-based censorship and kill it off, so what he's really saying is he wants to kill it off but is too much of a fuckin' pussy to just do it himself.

Not a chance in hell. He even says, in the first part of this wall, that he has no desire to do Voat anymore because "he's changed". Yet won't appoint admins. Won't pass off ownership. Won't open Bitcoin transfers or other donation ability.

I appreciate Putts previous efforts to keep that pig running, but it's lip service at this point. When a person shows you their true self, you better believe it the first time.
