A reason to have a leader on a site like voat/poal is to ensure the site is funded and maintained. There is little requirement for actual leadership, because there is no need to influence the society.
And that is the problem. Voat is half shill/agenda and half people who just want to use a reddit clone.

I hardly vote at all really. Has no impact on anything. Even if there was no down vote, a regular vote is still a form of censorship.
If you are able to confirm that what you know is 100% truth, then you should engage everyone, not just leftists. It is why I always start so many fights. Not every one knows what I know, but I wish they did. My longest arguments on the subject of Christianity are almost always with Christians. The common kind lacks a lot of understanding, but they think they know. So dont limit yourself to enemies. Improving your allies is a good tactic too.
