The difference between us and animals, is we are capable of abstract knowledge. Ideologies, methods and understanding can only be spread through knowledge. You could spend 100% of your energy trying to get an enemy to agree with you. Or you can could spend 50% of the energy getting an ally up to your level. Before, you had 150% of your capacity (assuming your ally was at 50% of your level). Now you have 200%.
A person at 50% and 100% of your knowledge will not be able to spread it as much as two people at 100%
