As good a theory as any. I really doubt Putt is really still Putt, myself.
His writing/communicating style changed. I'm no expert but I do pay some attention to how people write to improve my own writing skills. He definitely isn't writing the same way so it's likely not Putt at the keyboard.
Where do you think the delineation began on his changed diction? I could try and investigate when I get the time, making observations on how Putt's rhetoric transformed based on sentence structure, behavior, and argumentation. It would take awhile to reach anything conclusive, if it all though.
I first picked up on a change in cadence and rhythm in his "Builders" speech. The writing was not the same with his quirky sentence structure and odd cadence. It had too much flow and some words seemed un-Putt-like. I can't give examples at the moment, but if you can compare it to an earlier post you may find the differences stand out.
Same here, I just made the comment. My background is in writing, translation, linguistics. The personality feels different.

Angel investors can certainly do that. Maybe Putt didn't have a lawyer read the fine print. I worked for a company that ousted the entire executive team because the angel investor they brought in to help them with financial troubles pulled a fast one on them. They didn't quite get the gist of the performance clause and after 6 months they were all evaluated, found lacking and kicked out. This could have happened to Putt too but he might actually be going insane too.
I've had the same thought. After a couple years of direct interactions with the guy including several the past few days, something feels "off".
I left goatland after the big outage when Putt disappeared and didn't even know the site was down for a couple of days. Atko had to swoop in and save it. Even before that Putt had given up caring and that was the straw that broke the camels back for me. Pmby2 created Poal - and many of us went in the new direction to build anew. So yes, I really do believe he who had been Putt is no longer posting as such. IMHO he was either bought out or ousted by angels.

I 100% believe it's him and that what we are witnessing is the unadulterated 'fuck it, I'm not going to sweeten what I say anymore' him.
If you read his earlier announcement posts you see the similarities in manner of tech speak and format.
The only difference now is that he's speaking more emotionally. And I think it's because he's set financially now thanks to the angel, is free of some of the burden to carry the site by himself, and he's allowing his resentment of his critics to show through.
I observed how he acted during spats with users over the last couple of years. It struck me how petty he was during those interactions and I turned sour on him. He's not acting any differently now. Others are finally seeing what I observed a while ago.
I have a hard time claiming 100% certainty of anything; but yeah, I'd say it's a lot more likely that we're seeing another side of Putt than that the CIA big wigs went "mua ha ha! It's now time to execute our fiendish plan to replace Putt with our imposture!".
Shouldn't be that hard to prove.
