The prequels are dope. It was just poor direction on Lucas' part. He dwelled too long on the politics. And he made it so that normally good actors acted wooden and delivered their lines in monotone voices, like in a stage play. But, the concept was solid. The prequels laid the groundwork for everything that came after. They really opened up the universe.
