For me it was the movie "Looking for Mr. Goodbar" 1977 with Diane Keaton, Richard Gere and Tom Berenger. I remember seeing the trailer for it in the 80's but was never interested. It came on late night some months back and I watched it for the first time. Based on a true story, it's about a school teacher for handicapped children by day and a total bar whore by night. The movie is 99.9% drama, interesting story line and completely unsuspecting of the ending when she meets Tom Berenger at a club. Movie's final scene, she's bedding Berenger, yada yada, make out, yada yada, everything's fine, yada yada, she says something to piss him off, they fight and he outright stabs her in the neck and kills her. Her face fades away as each heart beat gets slower and that's the end.

Sorry for the spoiler but had to be done. Good movie.

The climax of the G.I Joe movie where they blew up the sea ice to make it all sink and crush the bad guy's underwater base. I definitely did not see "Ice that sinks" coming. Quite the plot twist.

I saw The 6th Sense in theaters before reading any reviews. Had no idea what was coming. I felt like someone had taken a power washer to my brain.

Extinction on Netflix is pretty good. You'll definitely not guess the ending.

If you've never seen it, Fight Club is a classic 'twist' movie.

The end of Battlestar Galactica.

Well, yes. I do.

But that ending was quite refreshing and not at all what I expected.

The last 20 minutes or so of David Lynch's Dune. It was a disaster. It destroyed the integrity of the movie. Up until then, the story was moving along at a good pace, and then boom! the movie turns into a summary of years of material squeezed into a few minutes of screen time.

Another shocking ending, Electraglide In Blue. But it was stolen from Easy Rider.

Loved the ending to The Mist. Lol

Additionally, you need to think about one more thing. The army was behind them the whole time.

They were actively running away from safety.

Also, a lady that left the super market in the mids of the movie was there too.

Yep, spotted her face as she was driven by. :D

Martyrs the original not the awful Hollywood remake. It's not a dialogue heavy film so don't let that it's in French put you off.
