The problem with this (and all top-down vice laws) is that it weakens people. People need to be able to resist temptation on their own without a nanny state. If the government becomes their conscience then the moment the government becomes corrupt the entire population becomes corrupt. It also creates a dangerous scenario where the state will block more and more "harmful" content. Hate speech might be next on their list.
Blocking it from children is fine, but they should be specific.
Yeah I dont like this precedent. I would rather just criminalize porn. Or how bout legalize the murder of pornographers? Lets keep the state out of it completely.

Honestly I see all this as a symptom rather than the disease. Strong families and proper community lead moral education would solve this problem.
