Oy Vey! That's antisemitic!

[–] 7 pts

Maybe parents should take some responsibility and not allow their kids phones without filters?

Just brainstorming here.

[–] 5 pts

Or just don't give them phones with credit.

Or just don't give them fucking phones.

[–] 4 pts

How effective will this method be on a 30 year ild coomer living in his mom's basement?

That being said, censorship is fucking stupid. This probably won't reduce porn consumption.

[–] 0 pt

Utah has the highest porn consumption per capita. Mormons are hypocrites.

[–] [deleted] 16 pts

Lol, that is a strange way to teach computer science, but I applaud their out of the box thinking.

[–] 20 pts

Scope creep will happen as once they filter porn, next it will be "misinformation".

[–] 5 pts (edited )

It also won't work. Porn has been banned in Russia for a long time.. they ended up becoming one of the most major producers.

Media is not like a normal good. Supply and demand don't naturally coordinate, because you can usually get it for free. Risk for non-payers has to exist to motivate anyone to pay. That's what copyright does. A media prohibition also applies risk to non-payers.. so they similarly to copyright are now willing to pay. They just do it in a black market sense. This means you actually end up with more production, and possibly more consumption as there is more to consume.

Pornography was about to implode on itself because the courts are practically not enforcing copyright for it and the production is saturated, and every revenue scheme for it fails. Economically ignorant prohibitions on media is how you end up keeping an about to implode media industry surviving.

If you really want to kill pornography you make it very slightly illegal everywhere so that it doesn't get copyright protection, then you don't enforce that law, and all revenue efforts fail after a few years. No more production. Eventually the majority of already made content becomes memory holed in 10 years.

Nope, that's been completely disproven. I can download pretty much any movie I want in top quality without paying a cent. According to your theory the movie industry should be dead, in fact it should have died decades ago. Instead people are still paying for movies and the industry is doing just fine, expanding in fact.

In addition people have shown they're perfectly willing to fund projects through things like patreon and kickstarter, even when they don't receive any physical media in return and even (in some cases) to help develop a product which might never exist.

The main purpose copyright currently serves is to suppress competition. Media megacorps have given up suing individual torrenters, the only people they bother suing anymore is anyone producing derivative works or original creative work they consider "too similar." Copyright allows them to stake out a huge field of creative ideas and declare a monopoly. Eventually it'll get to the point where any story you can possibly tell will have a jew sitting on it saying "I own this."

Pornography was about to implode on itself because the courts are practically not enforcing copyright for it and the production is saturated, and every revenue scheme for it fails. Economically ignorant prohibitions on media is how you end up keeping an about to implode media industry surviving.

Even if the porn industry died (I doubt it) it wouldn't matter: The internet is already saturated with women producing porn for free. The current value proposition of porn stars isn't taking their clothes off, it's pretending to be in a relationship with their johns and making them feel valued, hence the rise of things like onlyfans. Some of them don't even produce anything recognisable as porn.

If you really want to kill pornography you make it very slightly illegal everywhere so that it doesn't get copyright protection, then you don't enforce that law, and all revenue efforts fail after a few years. See above. Anything and everything produced by any major porn company is available for free. They can't stop it, copyright laws haven't stopped it. Despite that, they're still going.

Underexposed post. Very good analysis and strategy to systemically dismantle this degeneracy.

Take away the profit and you kill an industry.

Per usual uploads allowed, downloads no.

I have to wonder if UT isn't being used to test that method of boiling the frog.

[–] 6 pts

People will smuggle phone from out of state just to watch pixel titties.

[–] 2 pts

Dumbass use a VPN on your phone. Or tor browser. Duh

FUCKING morons

[–] 3 pts

We can exchange nudes on here. Then it won’t get blocked. Let me see your dick

[–] 1 pt

I’m waiting on yours. Mine is out and ready, but I need you to make the first move.

Block Mitt Romney from the state

[–] 3 pts

The repercussions are clear: phones will simply not be available for sale in the state. No manufacturer will devote engineering time to satisfy the whims of one state. The liability of their filter will also pose too much risk.

[–] 4 pts

You think the communists in Silicon Valley will ignore the opportunity to set the precedent of blocking content on people's phones? Ha!

[–] 4 pts (edited )

What? The hell one cell phone company won't. For an entire state, even Utah? Yeah, 100 programmers might already be working on it just because of the possibility.

E: Besides, the filtering already exists for China and other countries. Just need to remap what one is filtering.

E2: Besides, the filtering already exists for America. Just need to remap what Google filters (just woke up from drunkenness).

[–] 2 pts

Plus even if the other guy is right and most manufactures won't, that means for the one that does they will get a monopoly on the whole state.

Next up, white supremacy filters

All automakers sacrifice engineering time to satisfy California's state requirements.

[–] 1 pt

California >>> Utah

[–] 0 pt

Breweries too. It's illegal to sell beer that is over 4% ABV at the grocery store in Utah. Brewers make special Utah versions of beer to be sold in Utah.

[–] 1 pt

A business decision. California represents probably 5% of their car sales. Cell phones are different in that Utah probably represents less than 0.5% of cell phone sales.

[–] 2 pts

Most likely it will be used in the future to prevent seeing wrong think.

Bush really fucked us by not allowing all porn to be moved to a .xxx domain instead of .com

[–] 2 pts

Can you imagine if all porn was forced to use .xxx for porn (instead of .com, .net, .org etc)? Then all the tech companies would have to had a switch to turn on or off during initial setup if they wanted that part of the net to be accessible.

Thanks Bush-43...you fucking faggot kike cock sucker. "Can't legitimize porn by doing this..." you fucking disgusting faggot.

[–] 2 pts

This is not a practical solution. It would be smarter to just institute a mandatory death penalty for anyone caught producing porn.

[–] 3 pts

Is it porn if you send me a picture of your dick for medical purposes?

[–] 0 pt

No, that's just normal internet stuff.

[–] 2 pts

Well, attacking production rather than consumption is definitely smarter when dealing with media. Prohibitions on consumption can cause more production because it creates a black market for it, whereas freely shareable media can't be monetized. What you really need to do is end copyright for porn. That will really get them kvetching.

[–] 2 pts

WHY do you hate jews?

[–] 0 pt

Its genocide!

[–] 0 pt

Anuddah shoah?

That would help but doesnt get to the root cause of people still seeking it out. It is almost like an addictive drug. You need to have more people coming out explaining how excessive porn screws with your brain and your dick. If people dont know the long term damage it does they will simply keep watching because everyone is under the assumption it is harmless.

[–] 2 pts

The problem with this (and all top-down vice laws) is that it weakens people. People need to be able to resist temptation on their own without a nanny state. If the government becomes their conscience then the moment the government becomes corrupt the entire population becomes corrupt. It also creates a dangerous scenario where the state will block more and more "harmful" content. Hate speech might be next on their list.

Blocking it from children is fine, but they should be specific.

[–] 0 pt

Yeah I dont like this precedent. I would rather just criminalize porn. Or how bout legalize the murder of pornographers? Lets keep the state out of it completely.

[–] 1 pt

Ha!

Honestly I see all this as a symptom rather than the disease. Strong families and proper community lead moral education would solve this problem.

[–] 1 pt (edited )

Can't you just set up DNS filtering on phones with some kind of parental control app? Don't see why you need a law for that.

But then again, I did just post about how children have easier access to porn than Dr. Seuss books. Maybe giving parents the option to keep or unblock filtering is a way.

  1. Parents dont 'know how the hell to filter content if they aren't IT savvy. and

  2. The porn industry doesn't have any controls in place to prevent children from accessing the content. "Yes, I am 18" does not stop children from accessing it and becoming addicted for the rest of their lives.

[–] 1 pt

Good luck. This isn't even practical

the useful takeaway is what the puppets are virtue signalling with.
