Brother in law was 9m from retirement and got court marshaled for sexual assault from a women in the military that has claimed 2 other officers with similar charges in the past. He didn’t get max sentences because of lack of evidence (came down to there was no evidence other than her word against his). But he was of course dishonorably discharged and didn’t get any benefits. I can see them discussing this during the hearing recess. “Can’t really charge due to lack of evidence but he’s about to retire which gov will have to pay him for rest of his life unless we just dishonorably discharge him.”
I think you’re wise to be prepared incase they start getting screwy. God speed
