Depending on evidence, a theft charge might not be sufficient.
I haven't heard much about this incident or than the fact that the gun was bought 4 days prior to the shootings and the students at the school were afraid, to the point that some students did not attend school that day.
Supposedly one of the parents texted the kid telling him not to do it.
If the parents knew their child was disturbed before the gun was introduced, then they should be held accountable for not adequately safe guarding the weapon.
