I really don't like Francis, but at least get your criticism of him correct. This doesn't mean "sins of the flesh" aren't serious, just that there are some sins that are more serious than that. Also, he was speaking about a priest who resigned because he gave a massage to a woman (not even sex, just a massage).

Ok, there are some cherry-picked quotes in that article that really obscure the context. That being said, it looks to me like Benedict was speaking about the culture at large, and not teachings of the church. None of the quotes in that article would bring me to the same conclusion as the author (or you). Just my opinion from the reference you provided.
