I see some of the commentors calling for defunding the FBI. That's an interesting notion: less funding means smaller or fewer salaries. Smaller salaries means that people won't be as interested in spending lots of time trying to destabilize the nation "to protect the people" (or however the FBI PR people try to explain away this entrapment).
The less money the government receives, the less damage it can do to the common man.
I'm not sure since I have no idea how it works internally, but maybe just maybe the FBI has quotas... You know, every year they have a minimum of arrests to make for each type of crime they are supposed to look for... Some stupid ass incentive like that...
That would explain a couple of stuffs
They have performance reviews, like all government bureaucrats. Being able to write, "I did such and such a thing which led to the arrest and conviction of a domestic terrorist" is a nice talking point for a performance review.
Bureaucratic virtue signal...
'The less money the government receives, the less damage it can do to the common man.'
I don't disagree entirely, however an Importent distinction - The less money the Government receives, the less money it can spend on ways of doing damage to the common man - not necessarily resulting in less damage, just less avenues/ vectors for damage.
