I believe this is the DS's last gasp. Food shortage used as a means to marshal law and the cancellation of the elections. The food shortages will happen and the dems will talk about marshal law and cancelling the elections, but it will not happen. Very possible top to bottom blowout of the dems in the mid-term.

I think the plan is for the Republicans to win before the real shit hits the fan and then the Dems and media will blame it all on Republicans. It won't matter that it's patently ridiculous. People will think as they are told.
