It is a beautiful state, four seasons of fun. But like I said, the coast is a virtual no-go zone for me in the summer ... I head for the lakes and mountains to escape the madness.
Makes sense. I needed I-95 to get north. You have land in the backcountry?
Just my cabin in the mountains, on a small ½ac lot bordered by a pond a stream on the back of the lot, overlooking a 3714' mountain (one of the tallest in that area).
I've got 180ac of heavily forested land in southern Maine that I purchased about 20 years ago and have been thinking about developing, great location 10 minutes from town with Walmart, Home Depot and Lowes + much more, 30 minutes from PWM jetport. I may develop it just to have something exciting to do as I inevitably fade into the sunset. There could be 10-15 years of activity and collecting big fat checks every so often if I go that route. The idea intrigues me, I've been on hiatus way too long.
My mom's side of the family has about 2500ac last I knew in central Maine. Incredible hunting and fishing there with a low population density.
Wow I'd say you got some land. 2,500 acres that's a few miles worth. Lots of time to take your gun on a hike for sure. Have you had any successful moose hunts up there?
