I'm not getting as much engagement and there aren't as many comments as there were a few days ago. Was there a flood of people after Voat shut down and big tech started censoring? Has that died off now? How's the level now compared to say, the start of December?

Yeah, I figured I got the most of an answer as I was going to get even though it wasn't really answered. So I left it at that.

I thought of exactly what you are saying, people are probably feeling pretty burnt out, It's a very stressful time for many.

People also jump on new things when certain events happen like the censorship and then trickle back on the platforms and obey the rules more because they are addicted to content. Reddit for instance has a lot of engagement, a LOT of people were really angry when censorship started there and they started banning subs. Like a frog in a pot with the water slowly getting hotter, people have short term memories or do mental gymnastics in order to overcome what they previously believed was their line in the sand.
