Check my other replies here.

It could be related to the way your browser is handing tabs, or your ISP is sharing that "static" IP in a pool that has been used by a botnet to attack/flood Poal.

Send me a PM and I'll explain you how to Whitelist your IP.

I've had it happen to me when I scroll through histories too fast. AOU said awhile back that if you have several Poal windows open and your connection refreshes them all at the same time, the same result occurs. Essentially multiple requests in a short timeframe are treated as hostile.

I had/have a similar issue. McFadedGlory posted a picture last night and when I clicked on it, I started getting blocked from the website unless I went on mobile data or turned on my VPN. Wasn't sure what I did wrong

I had that issue as well. It is likely because that post was a webp image. He has posted webp images on poal multiple times.

Poal blocks webp image format, but it allows the post to be made using one, though the post is soon deleted as it was of a webp image.

However, if you happen to view post listings (eg. all/new) and catch that post while it exists within the window between when it is posted but before it is deleted, you risk a temporary block from poal if you click on it.

The image for the post won't load as it is a webp, but even trying to view the post content or load it in expando will make you get temporarily blocked from poal.

Again, he's posted webp images multiple times on poal and this has been the result each time for me as I didn't realize who had made the post to then need to check if it was a webp post that he tends to make.

I need to either remember to always look at who posted something before clicking it and never click any post he makes, or finally just remove him from my poal due to this recurring issue with his posts causing me to be temp banned from poal.

If possible, can a post not successfully be submitted if it is a webp file that is being posted instead of it submitting successfully, though temporarily, and blocking those who try to view it within the window that the post remains viewable?

I fixed that yesterday. You won't see a broken webp post anymore.

What OP is experiencing is another issue. His browser seems to be loading multiple tabs at the same time when restarting or reloading a previous session.

Nice! Thank you very much for fixing that trouble!

I'm sorry that I failed to ask about/report that issue when I had encountered it each time previously. I should have realized that trouble with webp images getting posted had really only started to happen about the time you implemeted poal's fallback for image hosting prior to pic8 going away completely.

I should have recognized it as something not being right and asked you about it. I didn't recognize it as possibly being a bug on poal as I only encountered it with images posted by that one user a few times. It is great to know that it wasn't something he was doing intentionally!

Also great is that I won't need to spend time verifying that a post image isn't a webp being posted prior to trying to open it or view the post. Thank you!

You got caught by the bot protection. It happens. Get your IP and DM AOU begging to be unbanned. Eventually it will unban you anyway but asking nicely helps.

begging

lol wat, not really.

Shit happens. As we talked about, Poal is under an ongoing/permanent attack (botnets), but if a legit Poalr gets blocked, they probably triggered the anti-flood algorithm by browsing too fast. Unfortunately, that's the only way to keep the website going.

The blocking lasts for one hour, and it increments exponentially.

Like I said before, if that's really an issue, I'm willing to Whitelist those who of you who get blocked.

I believe the reason for legit accounts is certainly related to browsers that keep tabs in a session, and reload them all at the same time when it crashes or gets restarted.

Yeah, I was joking ;) You are always helpful and do a ton to make this place work well.

You were doing it while you wrote this weren’t you.

You should know Stupidbird has all the receipts.

If you use a vpn it's possible it's blocking. The Canadian vpn provider Windscribe blocks "free speech" sites

It doesn't matter what network you're on, your ISP or a VPN, they can choose at any time what traffic you're allowed to have.

Unlike Gab kikes (jewtube is also considering doing it), Poal doesn't block requests from VPN services.

It's probably related to the 3rd party DNS services they are relying on.
