Up here there's a law that all public places that have a television must have CC on at all times. Normally it's not an issue, but we have this 1 customer who has to be an ass about it every time he comes in. Makes it a point to go to the managers office and rattle off the law and fine and tells us to turn on the CC immediately before he contacts the authorities.

Yeah, if they work for you it is a different story.... especially if the work place has hazards. But this is not what your post said. Sorry, I do not assume the entire world works for you and that is not the basis for making comments. You did not say "showing up to work in an intentionally disabled fashion is a shitty move." You said, without clarification or qualification, that not wearing hearing aids is a shitty move... and that is a really shitty thing to say. They have a disability and maybe they want to leave the house without strapping on head gear.
